Over 50 Korean Companies Eye Investment Opportunities in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH: On December 13, 2024, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed a delegation of 50 companies from the Korea Industry Alliance Forum (KIAF). Led by President Marn-Ki Jeong, the delegation is exploring potential investments in key sectors such as engineering, infrastructure, automotive skills, technology, healthcare, beauty services, and general trade.

During a courtesy call at the PH Grand Hall Convention Center, President Jeong expressed his pleasure at meeting with PM Hun Manet again. He noted that the delegation’s visit to Cambodia was a follow-up to their previous meeting in South Korea seven months ago.

“The companies in our delegation are eager to explore investment opportunities in these key sectors,” President Jeong said.

In response, PM Hun Manet welcomed the Korean delegation and highlighted the Royal Government of Cambodia’s priority policies. These include infrastructure development, such as the construction of international airports, expressways, railways, and deep-water ports.

“Building human capital, particularly in automotive skills and technology, is also a key priority for us,” PM Hun Manet added.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a competitive investment environment through various policies and incentive mechanisms.

“By connecting Cambodia to regional and global markets through bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements, we aim to attract more foreign investment,” PM Hun Manet said.

PM encouraged the KIAF delegation to engage with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to identify and capitalize on investment opportunities.
