Phnom Penh, January 15, 2024 – The Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the China Foreign Trade Centre, convened a press conference to inform and encourage Cambodian businesses to participate in the 137th China Import and Export Fair.
The event, chaired by H.E. Buon Sarakmony, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, was attended by representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, private sector leaders, and various companies and enterprises.
Recognized as one of the world’s most significant trade fairs, the Canton Fair serves as a premier platform for international trade in China.
Mr. Nguon Meng Tech, Director General of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the fair’s importance for Cambodian businesses. He encouraged active participation, highlighting the valuable opportunity to showcase products and services to a global audience of potential partners.
The press conference provided a valuable forum for Cambodian companies to directly receive comprehensive information from the exhibition organizers and inquire about the specifics of the China Import and Export Fair.
H.E. Buon Sarakmony delivered a speech underscoring the critical role of international trade fairs, particularly the 137th Canton Fair, in advancing Cambodia’s global trade engagement.
He emphasized the significant contribution of such exhibitions in strengthening trade partnerships, expanding business opportunities, and fostering economic growth through enhanced international cooperation.
The Canton Fair is held biannually, taking place in April and October of each year.
