PHNOM PENH-In a major move to accelerate foreign investment and strengthen bilateral economic ties, Neak Oknha Kith Meng, President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council Cambodia, spearheaded the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (KOCHAM) on September 3, 2026.
Signing alongside Mr. Kim Seong Su, Chairman of KOCHAM, Neak Oknha Kith Meng positioned the agreement as a vital catalyst for bringing more Korean capital into Cambodia while safeguarding existing investments.
The ceremony took place in Phnom Penh under the high presidency of H.E. Kong Vibol, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister and Director General of the General Department of Taxation, with leadership from both chambers present.
Highlighting Cambodia’s growing appeal to international markets, Neak Oknha Kith Meng emphasized the country’s robust business environment, macroeconomic stability, and pro-investment policies enacted under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. He noted that the joint framework marks a pivotal milestone in creating direct pathways for Korean businesses to explore and expand across key Cambodian sectors.
Mr. Kim Seong Su praised the initiative as a historic turning point for cross-border cooperation, noting that the partnership provides both the protection and confidence required for sustained investment growth.
The framework establishes clear operational strategies to drive investment growth, including the exchange of trade data, updates on economic policies, business matching, and joint trade missions.
Furthermore, the two chambers will focus on resolving operational challenges and providing direct channels of support to ensure a seamless entry for new investors.
