PHNOM PENH: H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), received here on Oct. 20 a courtesy visit from a senior delegation of KB Kookmin Bank, the parent company of KB Prasac Bank Plc., led by Mr. Lee Hwan Ju, President of Kookmin Bank.
During the meeting, Mr. Lee expressed appreciation for the opportunity to visit Cambodia and emphasised the importance of gaining a comprehensive understanding of the country’s economic potential.
He noted that Cambodia’s favourable investment environment has encouraged Kookmin Bank’s shareholders to further strengthen their long-term commitment through continued support for its subsidiary, KB Prasac Bank Plc.
Mr. Lee reaffirmed his intention to make Kookmin Bank’s investment in Cambodia a model for other Korean investors, showcasing the Kingdom’s success and promising opportunities for growth.
He further conveyed his admiration for the well-organised operations of the SOSORO Museum of Money and Economy and praised Cambodia’s long and rich monetary history.
During his visit, Mr. Lee will also inspect the operations of KB Prasac Bank Plc. to explore the potential for expanding additional financial products and services.
In response, H.E. Dr. Chea Serey welcomed and thanked the representatives of Kookmin Bank for their confidence in Cambodia’s economic and financial sector development, and its continued commitment to investment expansion.
She briefed the delegation on recent policy developments and reaffirmed the NBC’s readiness to foster a supportive and transparent regulatory environment that promotes sustainable growth in the financial sector.
On the occasion, both sides also exchanged views on the regional and global economic outlook, financial stability, cybersecurity, and cooperation in developing cross-border payment systems.
