PHNOM PENH: Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia H.E. Dr. Chea Serey and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Wang Wenbin, have discussed on the strengthening of joint cooperation, especially in the banking and finance sectors, to contribute to promoting trade and other sectors to grow. The above-said discussion were made during a courtesy meeting here on Dec. 9.
In the meeting, H.E. Dr. Chea Serey recalled the cooperation between the National Bank of Cambodia with the People’s Bank of China, Chinese banking and financial institutions, and some Chinese companies, and cross-border payment systems between the two countries.
She requested supports from the Chinese side in connecting China’s cross-border payment system to increase convenience and provide cross-border payment options, which is also part of attracting Chinese investors, businesses, trade, and tourists.
For his parts, H.E. Wang Wenbin highly appreciated the strong friendship between the two countries in all fields, particularly the financial cooperation between the two nations.
The Chinese diplomat also voiced his supports on the continuation of the connection of payment systems between the two countries to facilitate cross-border payments and expand trade, in line with the vision of the leaders of both nations. AKP
