National Road 41 Construction Project Completed

Phnom Penh, December 23, 2024 – The construction of National Road 41, a 95.27-kilometer stretch of roadway, has been officially completed.

His Excellency Suy San, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, led an inspection team today to evaluate the project’s readiness for temporary handover and acceptance.

The inspection team comprised senior government officials, representatives from China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), and the WACC technical consultant company.

This comprehensive inspection marks the successful completion of all construction activities. Secretary of State Suy San has consistently monitored the project’s progress, ensuring strict adherence to technical standards and the fulfillment of all contractual obligations. This rigorous oversight aims to guarantee the construction of high-quality and durable infrastructure.

The project encompassed the rehabilitation and upgrade of National Road 41 (PK000+000 – PK095+270). The road improvement extends from Thanol Toeng village in Damnak Ampil commune, Angsnoul district, Kandal province (at the intersection with National Road 4) to Laeang village in Laeang commune, Dang Tong district, Kampot province (at the intersection with National Road 3).

As of mid-December 2024, the project had achieved 100% completion. This includes the full completion of AC asphalt coating work and the installation of all necessary traffic safety equipment. This equipment encompasses traffic signs, directional signs, guardrails, and other essential safety measures. The completion of these critical aspects facilitated the timely preparation for the temporary handover.

This significant milestone represents a crucial step towards enhancing the transportation infrastructure within the region.
