PHNOM PENH: Mr. Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) presided over a meeting with officials last week to discuss challenges and solutions for seven key infrastructure projects.
These infrastructure projects address:
- The challenges encountered during the pilot launch of the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway, as well as solutions to prevent illegal activities to encourage the use of the expressway’s smooth and efficient operation
- DIP technology, a modern technology that reduces time and convenience, is improving toll collection and operational data sharing, ensuring business transparency, and traffic safety for the people using the road.
- The progress construction of an international tourist port in Kampot province is a part of Cambodia’s efforts to improve transportation and logistics.
- The progress construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Sihanoukville is an important project to reduce wastewater pollution and improve the city’s beauty.
- Issues related to National Road No. 3 (Kampot-Veal Renh), particularly the 20-kilometer stretch that is badly damaged, to find a solution for improvement using special techniques.
- Flooding’s Impact on road infrastructure this year, and emergency measures for emergency rehabilitation
- Work on improving National Road 4 is progressing under standards and specifications.
The Senior Minister directed the technical working group and the Capital-Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport to carry out their work regarding the closure during the rainy season regularly.
