PHNOM PENH: H.E. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce and Chairman of the Export Promotion Task Force (EPTF), along with ministry’s officials, conducted on Mar. 17 study visits to AEON Mall and 7-Eleven stores in Tokyo.
The visit aimed to gain insights into market trends and evaluate the positioning of Cambodian cashew nuts in the Japanese market.
The delegation’s visit to markets in Japan is part of a mission to assess the progress of Cambodia’s participation in Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan.
During the visit, the delegation visited three key retail locations, including AEON Mall Tokyo and two 7-Eleven branches, one of which is among the city’s highest-selling branches.
This visit provided a valuable opportunity to assess market potential, analyse consumer preferences, and explore new avenues for expanding Cambodia’s cashew exports to Japan.
H.E. Samheng Bora emphasised that the EPTF is actively collaborating with local producers and exporters to enhance compliance with international standards, strengthen supply chains, and position Cambodian cashew nuts as a premium product in the global market.
Japan is one of Cambodia’s targeted export destinations, reflecting the country’s commitment to expanding her presence in high-value markets.
By fostering strong trade partnerships and promoting sustainably sourced, high-quality cashew products, Cambodia aims to boost exports, enhance competitiveness, and solidify her reputation on the international stage.
