PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian Ministry of Commerce and COFCO Biotechnology Co., Ltd. have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on agricultural product cooperation for the export of 500,000 tonnes of dried cassava to China for 2025–2026.

The signing ceremony took place in Phnom Penh on Aug. 21 under the presidency of H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, and H.E. Zhou Yijue, Secretary-General of the Party Committee and Director of the General Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, joined by representatives of COFCO Biotechnology Co., Ltd.
This MoU builds on a previous agreement signed in March this year for the export of 200,000 tonnes of dried cassava to China, reflecting steady progress in bilateral cooperation, growing confidence in Cambodian agricultural products, and a significant step forward in advancing trade ties between the two countries.
The agreement also highlights the Royal Government’s efforts, through the Ministry of Commerce, to promote local products, expand and diversify export markets, and strengthen production and processing capacity to meet international quality standards within regional and global supply chains.
