PHNOM PENH: Her Excellency CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce, delivered a keynote address at the opening ceremony of the “One ASEAN Startup Award Pre-Event” on Monday, September 2, 2024, in Phnom Penh.

The event, hosted at the Hyatt Regency Phnom Penh, brought together representatives from various ministries and stakeholders.

Minister Nimul underscored the pivotal role of startups in fostering socio-economic development and creating new job opportunities within the ASEAN region. She highlighted how innovative ideas, technologies, and business models can fuel GDP growth when successfully transformed into established enterprises.

In her address, Minister Nimul encouraged participants to actively engage in the program to gain valuable experience, network with peers, and exchange ideas that can drive innovation across ASEAN and globally. She also urged attendees to consider the potential benefits of participating in the One ASEAN Startup Award.

Minister Nimul concluded her speech by urging participants to support the One ASEAN Startup Award Pre-Event, encourage more Cambodian entrepreneurs to participate and showcase their ideas, foster entrepreneurial development and knowledge sharing, promote digital adoption, and inspire youth to become successful entrepreneurs contributing to the region’s economic growth.
