Minister Encourages Investment in Processing of Agriculture Products

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries has encouraged investors to invest more in the quality processing of agricultural products for domestic supply and export.

H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, made the point when addressing a meeting on the Cambodia Agrifood Trade and Investment Forum of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations in Phnom Penh on Aug. 14.

Cambodia’s agricultural products, such as rice, cashew, rubber, and fisheries products, have potential and need more investment in processing with quality and high added value for domestic supply and export, he highlighted.

The minister appreciated the Cambodia Agrifood Trade and Investment Forum’s efforts to promote agricultural development programmes.

He was optimistic that the programmes that engage relevant players from both the supply and demand sides will be beneficial for Cambodian farmers as well as Cambodia.
