Malaysian investment in Cambodia totals 3.2 billion US dollars

PHNOM PENH: Malaysia is one of Cambodia’s largest investors, and Malaysia’s projects and investment in Cambodia have steadily increased.

According to a press release issued by the Council for the Development of Cambodia on March 24, 2022, there were 162 Malaysian investment projects in Cambodia worth more than 3.2 billion US dollars as of the end of February 2022.

Mr. Nuth Unvanra, Deputy Secretary General of the Investment Committee of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, informed Malaysian investors about investment opportunities in Cambodia during a meeting with Haji Ali Binmodhrustam, Governor of Malaysia, on March 24, 2022.

He also informed Malaysia about the Kingdom of Cambodia’s new investment law, which attracts and facilitates investment from Malaysian and other foreign investors.

Haji Ali Binmodhrustam, Malaysia’s Governor, has pledged to attract more Malaysian investors to invest in Cambodia by providing important information on Cambodian investment to Malaysian investors.

He will encourage Malaysian investors to study and invest in Cambodia in order to strengthen trade and investment relations.

Mr. Nuth Unvanra also welcomed and is ready to collaborate with Malaysian investors who come to Cambodia to seek investment by sector, despite the fact that the investment potential in Cambodia remains enormous for investors to profit from.

Since the establishment of economic relations between Cambodia and Malaysia in the mid-1990s, economic activity has increased significantly between the two countries. As a result of this expansion, Malaysia has become one of Cambodia’s most important trade and investment partners.
