PHNOM PENH: [November 20, 2024] – The Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia’s (RGC) ambitious goal of becoming an upper middle-income country by 2030.
During a recent courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, JCA President H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki emphasized the association’s dedication to this shared objective.
A delegation of 26 Japanese companies, including 17 new entrants to the Cambodian market, accompanied H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki. These companies expressed keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in diverse sectors, such as agriculture, food processing, and aquaculture.
H.E. Takahashi Fumiaki highlighted JCA’s efforts to promote Cambodia as an attractive investment destination, particularly for Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He reiterated the association’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with the RGC, focusing on industrial development and human resource capacity building.
In response, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed JCA’s establishment of an office in Cambodia and the inauguration of three vocational training schools specializing in automotive repair, beauty care, and IT engineering. He commended JCA’s role in deepening ties between Japan and Cambodia, as well as facilitating connections between the two countries’ private sectors.
The Cambodian Senate President expressed optimism about the potential for Japanese investment to transform Cambodia’s abundant natural resources into high-value products for both domestic and international markets.
