Japanese Experts Offer Investment Strategies for Preah Sihanouk’s MPSEZ

PHNOM PENH: On August 29, 2024, H.E. Chea Kok Hong, Secretariat Director of the Master Plan, met with representatives from the Japanese Development Institute (JDI) to discuss strategies for developing a Multi-purpose Special Economic Zone (MPSEZ) in Preah Sihanouk Province.

The JDI, experts in MPSEZ development, shared insights on attracting investors to the zone. Key sectors identified for potential investment included tourism, manufacturing, logistics, finance, and education and training. These sectors are crucial for driving Preah Sihanouk’s economic growth and positioning the MPSEZ as a desirable investment destination.

The long-term vision of the Master Plan is to transform Preah Sihanouk into a regional hub, serving as an international gateway, a national development pole, and an ASEAN metropolis. The development of these sectors aligns with this vision.
