PHNOM PENH: Indonesia will dispatch a delegation to Cambodia in the near future to discuss the export of Cambodian rice to the country.
The information was raised by H.E. Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, in a phone call on Aug. 11 with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, outgoing Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.
H.E. Joko Widodo took the opportunity to congratulate Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the landslide victory of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) in the July National Election which was held in a free, fair, orderly, and non-violent manner.
The Indonesian president said he is looking forward to working with H.E. Kitti Tesaphibal Pundit Hun Manet, Prime Minister-Designate of Cambodia in the upcoming ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Indonesia.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Joko Widodo for the congratulations and extended a welcome to the Indonesian delegation who will visit Cambodia to discuss the rice export.
He also laid stress on the possibility that Indonesian investors can invest 100 percent in rice milling and storage facilities and rice purchase networks from farmers to ensure stability for export.
