PHNOM PENH: On the morning of Thursday, July 17, 2025, His Excellency Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with a delegation from HUAWEI Cambodia Co., LTD., led by Mr. TAO Guangyao, President of HUAWEI Multi-Country in Southeast Asia and CEO of HUAWEI Cambodia Co., LTD. This courtesy call and working discussion underscored Huawei’s ongoing dedication to Cambodia’s digital advancement.

During the meeting, Mr. Tao expressed Huawei’s deep gratitude to the CDC for its consistent support, which has been instrumental in fostering a favorable environment for the company’s growth within the Kingdom. He then provided a concise update on the progress of Huawei Group and Huawei Cambodia, including their 2024 performance results and current business status.

The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the Prime Minister’s significant initiative to establish a digital technology industrial park in Cambodia. This project is designed to invigorate the investment landscape in digital and high-tech industries. Discussions also focused on the adoption of digitalization within state institutions and the private sector to streamline operations and foster greater efficiency.
Both His Excellency Sun Chanthol and Mr. Tao emphasized their shared goal of promoting digital innovation in Cambodia to achieve greater prosperity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

This collaborative effort aligns with accelerating the development of Cambodia’s digital society and economy, in line with the Pentagon Strategy – Phase 1 of the Royal Government’s 7th term, specifically prioritizing “people” and “technology.” Furthermore, these discussions resonate with the broader objectives outlined in the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035.
