Government, Private Sector Build Better Bond in Construction Sector

PHNOM PENH: A working breakfast was organised at Raffle Hotel Le Royal in Phnom Penh on Nov. 1 between the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and the private sector to shape better ties.

The event was presided over by H.E Say Sam Al, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction and attended by representatives of the private sector in the construction and real estate sector led by Neak Oknha Kith Meng, president of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Chair of coordination of the 16 private sector working groups-(G-PSF).

According to a press release issued after the event, this Working Breakfast aims to build a better bond between the private sector and the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. It is to demonstrate the special partnership of the “D” Working Group “Construction and Real Estate” under the mechanism of the Government-Private Sector Forum (G-PSF).

In addition, it is to let the private sector know about the direction of the Royal Government of Cambodia during its mandate as well as some of the ministry’s activity directions.

On that occasion, H.E. Say Samal provided many important recommendations and requests to the private sector to participate in building various infrastructures and promote a better and more prosperous national economy.

At the same time, Neak Oknha Kith Meng also raised the issue of cooperation and attention to the concerns of the private sector in the construction and real estate sector.

A working group has been formed under the mechanism of G-PSF to be a partner with H.E. Deputy Prime Minister as co- chair of the “D” Working Group, representing the government sector, with the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in the construction and real estate sector, which facilitates and eliminates the problems that are the concerns of the private sector.

In addition, through the working group, many necessary suggestions and recommendations will be provided to the ministry.
