PHNOM PENH: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has given the green light to four new investment projects in the provinces of Preah Sihanouk and Kampong Speu, and Phnom Penh capital.
According to a CDC’s news release made public yesterday, the four newly approved projects with a total investment capital of US$26.7 million belong to Runzhimao Health Co., Ltd., Litesun Homedecor Co., Ltd., Bright Plastic (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., and Hen Yang (Cambodia) Apparel Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
The four investment projects cover the manufacture of homeware, home decor lamps, all kinds of house cleaning tools, and clothes, the CDC pointed out.
They will generate a total of more than 3,000 jobs for the locals, added the news release.
So far this year, the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved 113 investment projects and investment expansion projects in the first half of 2023, with a total investment capital of US$1,105 million.
A CDC report stated that the number of investment projects decreased by 15 projects year-on-year, while the investment capital saw a decline of $800 million from $1,900 million in the same period last year. The approved investment projects created some 122,000 jobs for local people.
