First EdTech Summit Kicks Off

PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports launched the first-ever Cambodia EdTech Summit, a groundbreaking platform driving innovation in education through technology, at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) on Feb. 17.
The two-day event was officially commenced with a keynote address from H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports with the participation of representatives from various sectors.


The summit features a variety of activities such as strategic interventions from national and international experts, a discussion and knowledge sharing forum, an education technology exhibition, and a teacher competition programme.

Moreover, the event includes a digital competency competition where participants could test their digital competency and knowledge.

The summit is also to bring together policymakers, educators, IT experts, EdTech innovators, and industry leaders to tackle challenges and unlock new opportunities for digital learning that benefits children and youth.

This milestone summit marked the official launch of Cambodia’s Digital Education Strategy for Schools (DESS), emphasising the importance of technology-driven learning solutions in shaping the future of education.

The summit will continue until Feb. 18, providing further opportunities for knowledge exchange and partnership building.
