PHNOM PENH: Etihad Airways will launch direct flights from Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, to Techo International Airport in Cambodia starting Oct. 3, 2025. The new route is expected to significantly boost the number of international passengers and tourists visiting Cambodia.
The announcement was made by Mr. Charles Tan, Regional Managing Director for Asia & Australia at Etihad Airways, during a courtesy call on H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, in Phnom Penh last week.
During the meeting, Mr. Tan briefed the Minister on the airline’s current business activities and sought cooperation, support, and strategic guidance for the upcoming operations in Cambodia.
H.E. Minister Huot Hak expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Etihad Airways for recognising Cambodia’s growing tourism potential. He also thanked the company for its confidence in the Royal Government’s leadership and long-term vision, as reflected in the decision to operate direct flights to Cambodia.
Describing the meeting as both important and fruitful, the Minister emphasised that the new air link will play a key role in connecting Cambodia to global destinations and further promoting the country’s tourism sector.
