Duke Kith Meng Meets with Canadian Business Leaders

PHNOM PENH: On May 30th, 2024, Duke Kith Meng, President of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council for Cambodia, met with a visiting Canadian business delegation. The delegation, led by Mr. Mo Kevin, President of the CCC Representative Office in Montreal, was in Cambodia for a business mission.

Duke Kith Meng warmly welcomed the delegation and emphasized the shared responsibility of all Cambodians, both domestically and abroad, to contribute to the nation's economic growth, particularly through trade and promotion.

He provided a brief history of Cambodia's journey from civil war and internal strife to national reconciliation and a win-win political approach, which has resulted in lasting peace and development. He also acknowledged Canada's valuable role in the peace process, including the Paris Agreement, and its ongoing support for Cambodia's social and economic development.

As one of Cambodia's key trade and investment partners, with bilateral trade exceeding $1.5 billion in 2023, President Meng encouraged Canadian businesses to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia. He highlighted the country's access to a wide range of markets, including Canada, ASEAN, China, , Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
