DPM Sun Chanthol Emphasizes Investment and Trade as Drivers of Economic Development at CIFIT

PHNOM PENH: On September 8, 2024, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, H.E. Sun Chanthol, delivered a keynote address at the 24th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China.

The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. He Lifeng, Deputy Prime Minister of China, as well as high-level dignitaries from the United Arab Emirates, foreign investment promotion agencies, international organizations, and businesses from approximately 30 countries.

 

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol highlighted the crucial role of investment and trade in driving global economic development and promoting sustainable growth.

He emphasized that these two pillars are essential for fostering technological advancements, creating employment opportunities, and ensuring economic stability.

 

For Cambodia, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol explained that investment is vital for building infrastructure, supporting industrial growth, and introducing new technologies that can improve the quality of life for its citizens.

Trade, on the other hand, provides opportunities for Cambodia to participate in the global exchange of labor, skills, and knowledge, fostering stronger ties between nations.

Through CIFIT, Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol expressed Cambodia’s interest in exploring new avenues of cooperation and investment in areas such as renewable energy technologies and sustainable development.
