DPM meets UNDP Representative to discuss development partnerships

PHNOM PENH: On Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) held a productive meeting with Mrs. Alissar Chaker, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Representative in Cambodia.

The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his gratitude for UNDP’s longstanding support to the Royal Government, highlighting initiatives like the provision of electric vehicle charging stations.

He lauded this project as aligning with Cambodia’s commitment to increase clean energy usage to 70% by 2030 and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. He added that it serves as a valuable asset in attracting potential users towards electric vehicles.

Ms. Chaker commended the Royal Government’s impressive achievements in national development and congratulated the Deputy Prime Minister for his efforts in attracting investors. She reaffirmed UNDP’s strong commitment to assisting Cambodia in unlocking its development potential and enhancing its investment appeal to the global community.
