Direct Russia-Cambodia Flights Considered to Boost Tourism

PHNOM PENH: Russian company Lotus Group and its Cambodian partner JFT Jet have developed new strategic initiatives, including a feasibility study for establishing direct flights between Russia and Phnom Penh, or to other tourist destinations in Cambodia, to meet growing customer demand.

This information was shared by Mr. Vladimir Palancica, CEO of Lotus Group and President of BRICS House, and Ms. Khek Khemrath, President of JFT Jet, during their courtesy visit to Cambodian Tourism Minister H.E. Huot Hak on Jan. 21 in Phnom Penh.

According to Mr. Palancica, the direct flights between Russia and Cambodia would help increase the number of Russian tourists and investors, as well as visitors from other Russian-speaking communities, travelling to Cambodia.

The two investors, Russian and Cambodian, took the opportunity to express their sincere gratitude to the Minister of Tourism for the chance to present their past activities, particularly the provision of private jet services to an international clientele, especially Russian and Russian-speaking clients.

Furthermore, Mr. Palancica informed the Minister of a positive development – BRICS member countries, among the world’s leading economies, plan to open a BRICS House in Cambodia, an initiative that could significantly increase foreign direct investment flows to the Kingdom.

For his part, the Cambodian Minister of Tourism warmly congratulated the two companies for their active contribution and the notable results achieved in the past for the Cambodian tourism sector, as well as for the promising new initiatives presented during this meeting.

He also informed both parties of the Ministry of Tourism’s planned participation in the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Fair, scheduled for mid-March 2026.

The Minister expressed his support and provided further strategic guidance regarding the concrete implementation of these initiatives, to ensure their success and sustainability, and to effectively enhance Cambodia’s attractiveness to Russian tourists and investors, as well as to Russian-speaking communities.
