PHNOM PENH: On December 24, 2025, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), officially opened the dissemination workshop for the 2023-2024 Evaluation Report on the Cambodia Automotive and Electronics (A-E) Sectors Development Roadmap.
The workshop gathered key stakeholders from various ministries and the private sector to evaluate the roadmap’s implementation and chart the future of these two high-priority industries.

The event featured a high-level panel discussion titled “Strengthening Trade Facilitation and Increasing Exports in the Automotive and Electronics Sectors.” The goal was to refine strategies that will modernize Cambodia’s industrial structure and build economic resilience against global market fluctuations.
In his keynote address, H.E. Sun Chanthol emphasized that Cambodia is at a critical turning point. To achieve the Cambodia Vision 2050 of becoming a high-income nation, the Deputy PM noted that the country must look beyond its traditional reliance on the garment and textile industries.

“We must prioritize industrial modernization through technology, skill development, and high-value-added production,” he stated. The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted two major milestones reached this year:
Investment Surge: Over 600 investment projects were approved in 2025, a record-breaking figure that signals high investor confidence.

Historic US Trade Agreement: Cambodia secured a unique 19% tax rate agreement with the United States—the first of its kind globally—providing a significant competitive advantage for exporters to the U.S. market.
The workshop concluded with a call for active collaboration between the public and private sectors to ensure the A-E Roadmap continues to drive sustainable growth and innovation.
