China to attract more investments to Preah Sihanouk

PHNOM PENH: China has pledged to attract more investors to Preah Sihanouk province of Cambodia.

The pledge was made by H.E. Wang Mingyu, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference of China’s Liaoning Province, in a meeting with H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province in the province, on Oct. 23.

H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun warmly welcomed the visit and underlined the province’s development and investment potential in all sectors, especially trade and tourism.

Mr. Wang Mingyu’s visit coincides with the 65th anniversary of Cambodia-China diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the One Belt, One Road initiative.

The Chinese delegation continued that his delegation first visited Preash Sihanouk in 2019, and this second visit will further boost the development of the province, especially the expansion of investment projects in the Preah Sihanouk Special Economic Zone.

He also promised to promote the province’s education sector by providing scholarships to Cambodian students in Preah Sihanouk province to study in Liaoning province.
