PHNOM PENH: China has reaffirmed its commitment to providing comprehensive support to Cambodia as the Kingdom intensifies efforts to dismantle sophisticated technology-driven scam operations and eliminate cybercrime networks.
The assurance was given by Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, H.E. Wang Wenbin, during a high-level meeting on Tuesday with H.E. Santepundit Chhay Sinarith, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and Head of the Secretariat of the Commission for Combating Online Scams (CCOS).

H.E. Chhay Sinarith lauded the robust security partnership between the two nations, noting that joint operations against cross-border technology crimes have already yielded significant results.
He emphasised the Cambodian Royal Government’s “firm and specific” stance on eradicating criminal hubs and prosecuting ringleaders.
“Cambodia will continue to collaborate with partner countries to ensure consistent enforcement operations aimed at dismantling criminal nests and uprooting these syndicates entirely,” the Senior Minister stated.

Ambassador Wang Wenbin expressed gratitude to the Cambodian authorities for their recent cooperation in arresting and extraditing Chinese masterminds and their accomplices to face prosecution in China. He described these successful deportations as “clear evidence” to the international community of Cambodia’s resolve to tackle cyber fraud.
The Ambassador further noted that Cambodia’s strategic action plan has bolstered international confidence in the Kingdom’s capacity to suppress these crimes. He reiterated that Beijing remains “ready and willing” to provide any necessary assistance to help Cambodia achieve its goal of a complete sweep of technology-related crimes.
The meeting concluded with both parties discussing future operational steps and intelligence sharing to enhance the efficiency of ongoing crackdowns on cybercriminal infrastructure within the region.
