China Funds 11 Projects Worth US$2.5 Million

PHNOM PENH: Within the framework of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Special Fund 2025, the Government of the People’s Republic of China supports eleven projects proposed by Cambodia worth approximately US$2.5 million.

The Agreement on the Cooperation on Projects of the MLC Special Fund 2025 were co-signed by H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and International Cooperation, and H.E. Wang Wenbin, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Cambodia.

These projects will deliver significant benefits across a diverse range of fields, including tourism, health, agriculture, the conservation and restoration of cultural sites, the advancement of women’s entrepreneurship, technical and vocational education and training (TVET), promoting productivity and digital adoption in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as combating fake news and raising awareness of Mekong-Lancang Cooperation framework.

It is also worth noting that over the past ten years, the MLC Special Fund has provided financial support for 95 projects within Cambodia. The implementation of these collaborative initiatives underscores the enduring commitment of Cambodia and China to significantly contribute to the establishment of a Community of Shared Future of Peace, Prosperity, and Sustainable Development for all the Mekong-Lancang countries.
