CDC Approves Three QIPs Worth US$14,4 Million

PHNOM PENH: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) last week approved three qualified investment projects (QIPs) worth a total of US$14.4 million, expected to generate around 910 jobs in three provinces.

According to the CDC, CHIYUE Power Tech (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. will invest US$5.5 million to establish a factory for manufacturing energy storage devices and other electrical appliances in Thnal Teaksen village, Kraing Thnong commune, Bati district, Takeo province. The project is expected to create 200 jobs.

The second project, with an investment capital of US$6 million by New Concept (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., will focus on producing plastic products such as inflatable toys, inflatable tents, and stand-up paddle boards. The factory will be located in the Foison Giga Special Economic Zone, Russei Am village, Khsaetr commune, Kong Ror district, Svay Rieng province, and is expected to create 530 jobs.

The third QIP, invested by NEXORA YUQIANG Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. with a capital of US$3 million, will produce ovens, outdoor products, hardware, and plastic items. The factory will be based in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, spanning Pou Thoeung village in Sangkat Bet Trang and Smach Daeng village in Sangkat Ream, Kampong Som city, Preah Sihanouk province. The project is expected to generate 180 jobs.
