Capital’s residential property average price up 15.4%

PHNOM PENH: In August 2022, the residential property price index in Phnom Penh capital increased to 115.4%, implying that the average price increased by 15.4% compared to the 2020 index.

According to a report released on November 3, 2022, by the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), the average house price in Phnom Penh is 468.4 million riels, equivalent to 114,164 US dollars. The figure showed the average prices increased by 1.5% compared to July 2022 and August 2021 by 1.8%.

According to NBC, the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) calculation using the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) 2020 Compilation of Housing Guidelines.

The Residential Price Index is widely disseminated to the general public, who require this data, particularly economy and monetary policymakers, to monitor macroeconomic imbalances and assess potential risks in relevant sectors, particularly the financial.
