Cambodia’s Tyre Exports Surge 71% to US$159 Million in January

PHNOM PENH: The tyre manufacturing industry saw an increase in tyre exports with amount of over US$159 million, in January of this year, up 71 percent from US$93 million in the same period in 2025, a report from the Ministry of Commerce showed last week.

The export of tyre products came amid the country is receiving new investment projects in tire manufacturing production, leading to Cambodia’s tire exports.

Currently, Cambodia has seven tyre factories operating in Svay Rieng, Preah Sihanouk, and Kratie provinces.

The number of new investment projects would contribute to Cambodia’s socio-economic development, said H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).

“The increasing investment projects on tyre manufacture is an important achievement to further contribute to the socio-economic development of Cambodia, especially in line with the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia to diversify production and promote regional economic growth,” he said in a groundbreaking ceremony of a Chinese-invested tire factory in Svay Rieng province in January.

A report from the Ministry of Commerce stated that the Kingdom earned approximately US$1,380 million from tyre exports in 2025, an increase of 57.86 percent from US$874 million in 2024.

A report, compiled by the General Directorate of Rubber of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, showed that Cambodia exported a total of 343,762 tonnes of natural rubber latex, last year, down 12.3 percent year on year.

The commodity export earned US$603.million, down 9 percent from US$663 in the year before, said an official report.

The Kingdom exports the commodity mainly to Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore and China.

However, domestic consumption of rubber latex recorded a significant increase of 146 percent to 124,231 tonnes last year, generating a gross revenue of US$223, the report said.
