PHNOM PENH: Cambodia’s major cities including Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, and Battambang cities are considered and evaluated to become members of the Tourism Promotion Organisation for Asian-Pacific Cities (TPO).
The news was shared by Mr. WOO Kyoung-ha, Secretary General of TPO in his recent meeting with H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism here in Phnom Penh.
Mr. WOO Kyoung-ha lauded Cambodia’s management and development of cities, especially Phnom Penh, Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, and Battambang and when they become members of TPO, they will be known more broadly.
TPO will invite Cambodian municipal administration representatives to join the TPO’s General Assembly in November 2023 in Gyeongju City of the Republic of Korea as an observer city candidates.
If the Cambodian cities meet all the required criteria, they will become full members of TPO.
According to Mr. WOO Kyoung-ha, some cities in ASEAN countries including Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste are now members of TPO.
