Cambodian Tourism Minister Promotes Investment and Cultural Exchange in China

PHNOM PENH: According to the Agence Kampuchea Press (AKP), Cambodian Tourism Minister, H.E. Huot Hak, successfully concluded a visit to Henan Province, China, where he met with Chinese businesses to promote Cambodia’s tourism sector and attract potential investors.

During his meetings, Minister Hak highlighted Cambodia’s unique selling points, including its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and warm hospitality. He also emphasized the government’s incentives for tourism investment.

Chinese companies expressed keen interest in Cambodia’s tourism industry, indicating plans to organize familiarization trips to explore potential investment opportunities and develop new tour packages for Chinese tourists.

Minister Hak also participated in the 13th China Zhengzhou International Shaolin Wushu Festival in Dengfeng City. A historic highlight was the joint performance of Cambodian Bokator and Chinese Shaolin martial arts, marking the first time Cambodian Bokator was showcased at the renowned Shaolin Temple. This event served as a platform to promote Cambodian culture, tradition, and martial arts, while strengthening cooperation with Henan Province.

Minister Hak’s visit aligned with the “Visit Siem Reap 2024” and “Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year 2024” initiatives, aiming to foster closer ties and boost tourism between the two countries.
