PHNOM PENH – Senior Minister H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch has issued a strong call to Chinese investors, encouraging them to expand their investments in Cambodia and align with the economic vision of Prime Minister Hun Manet.
The appeal was made during the Cambodia–China Investment Outlook Forum and Economic Policy Presentation, held on August 9 in Shenzhen, China, as part of the 19th China Brand Festival.

In his address to a gathering of prominent Chinese business leaders and investors, H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, who also serves as Chairman of Cambodia’s National Committee for the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), highlighted Cambodia’s burgeoning potential as a strategic investment destination.
He pointed to the long-standing diplomatic relationship between Cambodia and China, which began in 1958 and has since grown into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. He noted that high-level exchanges dating back to 1999 have further solidified this bond, making Cambodia a reliable and profitable market for Chinese capital.

The Senior Minister outlined Cambodia’s key competitive advantages, which include modern infrastructure such as roads, railways, ports, and airports, as well as a young and skilled workforce. He also emphasized the benefits of the Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement and the government’s investor-friendly policies, which together provide a strong foundation for business expansion across various sectors.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, the Royal Government of Cambodia has committed to protecting investors, ensuring transparency, and promoting sustainable development. This commitment, H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch stressed, creates a secure environment for long-term business ventures.
He extended an invitation to Chinese companies to enhance their involvement in major initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative and the Cambodia-China Diamond Cooperation Framework. The Senior Minister also expressed gratitude to the investors for their continued confidence, for creating jobs, and for their vital contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic advancement.
