PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet said Cambodia will soon have a total of 25 bridges across the country’s four main rivers – Upper Mekong, Lower Mekong, Bassac, and Tonle Sap.
Among the 25 bridges, 19 have been constructed, 3 are under construction and 3 others are under pre-feasibility study, the Premier pointed out at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Chak Angre Krom-Prek Pra Concrete Bridge across the Bassac River in Phnom Penh this morning.
“In 1979, there were only 1.5 bridges across the rivers – Preah Monivong Bridge and Chroy Changvar Bridge which had been split into two during the civil war, but soon there will be 25 bridges across Cambodia,” he underlined.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reaffirmed the Royal Government’s continued attention to physical infrastructure construction and encouragement of investment in transport.
