PHNOM PENH: Cambodia and Thailand in the first six months of 2023, has seen the bilateral trade volume reaching more than $1.9 billion. The bilateral trade between Cambodia and Thailand in 2022 was worth more than $4.6 billion.
The significant trade is being driven by a number of factors, including Cambodia’s strong economic growth and its growing attractiveness to foreign investors. Thailand is one of Cambodia’s largest trading partners, and the two countries have a long history of close economic ties.
In a meeting on August 15, 2023, Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce, H.E. Pan Sosak, and a delegation from the Thai Chamber of Commerce discussed ways to further strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.
Minister Sosak said that Cambodia is committed to creating a favorable investment climate for Thai businesses and that he hopes to see even more trade and investment between the two countries in the years to come.
The delegation from the Thai Chamber of Commerce also visited Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone, Koh Kong Province, and Sihanoukville Province to learn more about the investment climate in Cambodia.
They were impressed by the opportunities that Cambodia has to offer businesses, and they expressed their confidence that the trade and investment relationship between the two countries will continue to grow in the years to come.
