PHNOM PENH: Cambodia’s rice exports reached a new record high, totaling 801,643 tonnes in the first eleven months of 2025, a 39-percent increase from 575,562 tonnes recorded during the same period last year, according to a report released on Friday by the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF).
The exports generated US$526 million in revenue between January and November this year, up 27 percent from US$413.9 million in the same period in 2024.
A total of 65 companies exported milled rice to 72 countries and regions across the globe. China remained the largest market for Cambodian milled rice, followed by countries in the European Union, ASEAN member states, as well as markets in Africa, the Middle East, the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Of the total exports, 65 percent was fragrant rice, 16 percent broken rice, 14 percent white rice, 2 percent parboiled rice, with the remainder comprising organic and other specialty rice.
This strong export performance marked Cambodia’s highest export volume in more than a decade, as the nation has typically exported between 600,000 to 650,000 tonnes annually over the past 13 to 14 years.
The Royal Government has demonstrated firm commitment to the rice sector through financial support, infrastructure development, and policies aimed at lowering production costs for farmers.
To further strengthen the industry, the government has encouraged relevant ministries and private-sector players to enhance cooperation and increase direct exports to international markets.
CRF President Mr. Lay Chhun Hour has previously stated that the federation is working to maintain existing markets while seeking new ones to achieve the national target of exporting one million tonnes of rice per year.
