Cambodia licensed over $53 million investment projects

PHNOM PENH: The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has endorsed five investment projects with a total capital of $53.6 million.

According to the CDC’s press release issued this afternoon, the newly approved projects are expected to create some 5,660 jobs for the locals.

Under the investments, a data center will be established at the Kampus building in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh, while garment, light bulb, and solar panel factories will be created in the provinces of Takeo and Kampong Speu.

In the first nine months of this year, the CDC approved a total of 191 investment projects worth US$3,765 million, up from 150 projects in the same period last year, the council’s report pointed out.

Five top foreign investors in Cambodia were from China, Malaysia, the British Virgin Islands, Singapore, and Vietnam.
