PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPT) yesterday broke ground on constructing the National Data Center (NDC).
The NDC is a critical project in Cambodia’s digital transformation agenda and will provide a secure and reliable home for government and private sector data.
The NDC is being built at a cost of nearly $30 million and is scheduled for completion in 2025. The 12-story building will be located in Sangkat Srah Chak, Khan Daun Penh, Phnom Penh.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, said that the NDC is important for Cambodia’s digital transformation.
“The NDC will be a place to collect and store government and company data from key sectors by providing a secure and reliable modern technology infrastructure,” he said.
The NDC will also provide benefits to institutions such as data sovereignty, money saving, and capacity strengthening for better service provision.
