PHNOM PENH: The Telecommunication Regulator of Cambodia (TRC) and the Office of the Communications Authority (OFCA) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance bilateral cooperation in addressing scam and spam-related challenges in telecommunications.
The signing ceremony took place in Hong Kong on Jan. 26 between TRC Chairman H.E. Chenda Thong and OFCA Director-General H.E. Chaucer Leung,
According to TRC, the MoU promotes the exchange of regulatory best practices, timely sharing of insights on emerging trends, and coordinated efforts to protect users and sustain trust in telecommunications services.
Alongside the signing, the two regulators held a bilateral meeting to discuss regulatory updates and ongoing initiatives.
Chairman Thong stated that the partnership will significantly strengthen sectoral resilience and advance consumer protection and digital trust in both jurisdictions.
