Cambodia Exports First Processed Cashew Nuts to Italy

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has successfully exported its first shipment of processed cashew nuts, with 14 tonnes destined for the Italian market.

The shipment was facilitated by Ample Agro Products, with technical support from the United Kingdom.

An official ceremony to mark the occasion was held here today, attended by dignitaries including Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, the EU Ambassador to Cambodia, and other key stakeholders.

The European Union welcomed the historic export, describing it as the start of new opportunities for the local economy.

The EU also highlighted the ongoing commitment of both the EU and Germany to support Cambodia’s cashew industry, which is a significant source of jobs and export revenue.

According to a report from the General Department of Agriculture of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, Cambodia exported 57,803,255 tonnes of cashew nuts in the first half of 2025.

This marks a 5.98 percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
