PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has exported 3.9 million tonnes of agricultural products in the first six months of 2023, earning some $2.4 billion in revenue, according to a report from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF).
The export value of agricultural products saw a year-on-year decrease of 22.5 percent, read the report. The main products Cambodia exported included rice, bananas, mangoes, cassava, cashew nuts, corn, palm oil, pepper, and tobacco, among others, it pointed out.
Milled rice export amount was recorded at nearly 330,000 tonnes, while that of paddy rice was 1.2 million tonnes, and non-rice agricultural products, were 2.3 million tonnes, generating $281 million, $447 million, and $1,672 million, respectively.
Cambodian agricultural products were shipped to 65 countries worldwide during the said period. Agriculture is one of the four pillars supporting Cambodia’s economy.
