PHNOM PENH: The Royal Government collected 321.6 billion Riels in tax on construction materials and other fees in the first half of 2022, equivalent to 6.1 percent of the total revenue of 5,259.5 billion Riels, approximate 1,294.4 million US dollars, an increase of 12 percent over the revenue collected in the first half of 2021.
According to the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia’s report, this result represents 50.2 percent of the Financial Law’s management plan for 2022.
The special tax was 1,977.7 billion riels, the value added tax was 1,996 billion riels, the customs duty was 989.8 billion riels, the additional tax on petroleum products was 189,4 billion riels, and export taxes and other fees were 106.6 billion riels, according to taxes and duties.
Vehicles and machinery generated 2,371.5 billion riels in revenue, mixed goods generated 1,456.1 billion riels, telecommunication products generated 1,110.3 billion riels, and construction materials and other fees generated 321.6 billion riels.
Exports of garment products increased by approximately 1,840.6 million US dollars, or 39 percent, in the first half of 2021 compared to the first half of 2022. Non-garment investment products increased by approximately 1,840.6 million US dollars, or 39 percent (such as electronic components, and bicycles).
