PHNOM PENH: The Cambodia-China Stung Trang-Krouch Chhmar Friendship Bridge project is a significant infrastructure development that connects Kampong Cham-Tbong Khmum province with a total length of 1,131 meters and a width of 13.50 meters, which is an essential addition for a structure crossing the Mekong River.
The bridge begins in Boeung Deng village, Prek Kak commune, Stung Trang district, Kampong Cham province, and ends in Kdol Leu village, Trea commune, Krouch Chhmar district, Tbong Khmum province.
Construction of the bridge started on 8th February 2018 and concluded on 23rd November 2021, taking around 42 months to complete and costing approximately $57 million.
The Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd. was responsible for the design and construction of the project, which was reviewed by Guangzhou Van An, a technical expert with years of experience.
This remarkable bridge marks an essential connection among Cambodian people and will bring them closer together across several districts, improving transportation, enhancing trade, and fostering development opportunities for the residents of the provinces.
