Cambodia asks South Korea to bring in more investments

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has asked South Korea to attract more investments, especially those in line with the Comprehensive Intermodal Transport and Logistic System (CITLS) Master Plan 2023-2033.

The request was made by H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, during a meeting with H.E. Park Jung-Wook, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Feb. 21.

H.E. Peng Ponea informed H.E. Park Jung-Wook that the CITLS master plan set 174 priority projects with a total investment of approximately US$36.6 billion.

The minister also highlighted the planned construction of the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge (Phsar Chas-Chroy Changvar-Areyksat), expected to break ground in 2025.

Besides, the two sides discussed more cooperation opportunities for infrastructure development and connectivity in Cambodia.
