PHNOM PENH: The Cambodian government has approved 19,322 construction investment projects worth more than $ 31 billion in the last five years, while China leads the investment.
According to the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction’s 5-year accomplishment report. Domestic and foreign construction has gained traction and contributed significantly to national economic growth.
In the first six months of 2022, construction investment totaled 2,000 projects with a total capital of 1206 million US dollars.
Mr. Li Raksmey, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, stated on August 24 at a press conference on the Ministry’s achievements that China, South Korea, Japan, and Thailand are the leading countries in investing in construction and real estate in Cambodia.
According to a report from the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, the ministry has issued construction permits in 57,590 projects with a total investment capital of $66.205 billion over the last 22 years.
