On the afternoon of Friday, March 6, 2026, H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, hosted a high-level delegation from the World Bank. Led by Private Sector Development Specialist Mr. Ramprakash Sethuramasubbu and Senior Program Manager Mr. Quan Zhao, the meeting served as a vital platform for a courtesy call and a strategic working session.
During the discussions, both sides highlighted their excellent history of cooperation, with a particular focus on the World Bank’s recent efforts to enhance Cambodia’s private sector competitiveness. This progress has been driven by collaborative preparations for the WTO Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement, or IFDA, in partnership with the International Trade Centre. The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of a needs assessment workshop aimed at studying the agreement’s content and sector-by-sector requirements to ensure a highly effective execution.
