PHNOM PENH: Cambodia and Vietnam have discussed their intention to further promote their bilateral trade and investment.
The discussion took place between H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia, at the CDC office in Phnom Penh on Jan. 3.
Both sides also exchanged views on the plan to arrange a working meeting between Cambodian and Vietnamese investors to learn more about investment potential in the two countries.
Cambodia and Vietnam will be able to further boost their investment and trade exchange, said H.E. Nguyen Huy Tang, expressing his desire for Cambodian investors to invest in Vietnam.
For his part, DPM H.E. Sun Chanthol informed his guest about the work of the CDC which acts as an investment facilitator between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the private sector such as playing a coordinating role for Cambodian investors and their counterparts from other countries to meet and explore investment potential.
In this regard, the CDC’s first vice president will examine the possibility for investors from Cambodia and Vietnam to meet to discuss investment opportunities.
