PHNOM PENH (AKP) — Cambodia and Luxembourg are strengthening their bilateral ties following a meeting between Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary of State Meas Kim Heng and Thomas Lammar, Chargé d’Affaires of the Luxembourg Embassy.
The main outcome of the meeting is the upcoming establishment of the Luxembourg Development Cooperation Agency (Lux-Development S.A.) office in Phnom Penh, which builds upon the General Cooperation Agreement signed between the two countries last year.

Cambodia receives continued support for its socio-economic development and national development priorities, which align with the Royal Government’s Pentagonal Strategy. The Secretary of State expressed his deep appreciation to the Government and people of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for their continuous support and assistance to Cambodia’s socio-economic development.
In response, Mr. Thomas Lammar reaffirmed Luxembourg’s commitment to supporting Cambodia in key areas, including human resource development, healthcare, rural development, poverty reduction, environmental protection, and humanitarian demining.

Luxembourg successfully advances its development partnership and deepens its bilateral relations with Cambodia. By introducing the candidate for the Country Manager position and opening the local Lux-Development office, Luxembourg secures a direct operational presence in Phnom Penh to effectively manage and strengthen its ongoing development activities and engagement in the Kingdom.
During the meeting, Meas Kim Heng also briefed the Luxembourg delegation on recent updates regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border situation, reiterating Cambodia’s commitment to resolving disputes peacefully through dialogue and international law.
