PHNOM PENH: The national flag carrier, Air Cambodia, launched its scheduled flights between Cambodia and Japan via Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China, on Oct. 26, opening a new gateway for tourism, trade, and investment between the two countries.
The inauguration ceremony was held at Techo International Airport under the presidency of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism; H.E. Dr. Mao Havannall, Minister in charge of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation (SSCA); and H.E. UENO Atsushi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, with the participation of SSCA management, airline representatives, and tour operators.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Huot Hak described the launch of the Phnom Penh–Tokyo flight as a historic milestone and an important step in strengthening tourism, trade, and people-to-people connectivity between Cambodia and Japan.
“The launch of the first direct flight between Phnom Penh and Tokyo opens a new gateway for tourism, trade, and investment between our two friendly nations,” he said. “This new route will make travel more convenient, attract more Japanese visitors to explore Cambodia’s rich culture and natural beauty, and create new opportunities for cooperation.”
He added that the Ministry of Tourism will continue working closely with the SSCA, Japanese partners, and airlines to further promote tourism and enhance direct flight services between the two countries.
